Advanced Writing for Young Writers is an 8-week online course for home schooled and independent study high schoolers. Taught by Janna Marlies Maron, a professional writer, editor and publisher, and part-time college instructor, the online course format uses a learning management system called Haiku Learning. Janna uses up-to-date technology for her lessons including video lectures, online discussion groups, dropbox submission and video conferencing with students. Her courses focus on teaching writing as a process so that students learn what writing practices work for them on an individual basis and can use what they learn to navigate any future writing situation. Janna offers one level for 8th/9th graders and one level for 10th/11th graders. Each course is $280/student and is capped at 6 students. The next 8-week session will be March 12 through April 30.
